Gaztelugatxeko Doniene (San Juan de Gaztelugatxe) in the Basque Country is one of the most beautiful monuments I’ve ever seen. I hiked to this spot in pouring rain with the occasional lightning and thunder, at multiple points I thought, I should turn back. However the weather outlook said at sunset the weather would clear, so I pushed on. I arrived to the castle only to hide behind a wall because the wind and rain was hitting me so hard. One hour before sunset, everything cleared and I got to witness this beautiful site with 3 other people who were also dumb enough to walk through a storm.
